Project

This project was a challenge. Not only did we need to choose a complex social issue and research that. But we also needed to actually embody it.

We decided to use the idea of paper dolls and use our own bodies. The whole idea was to show code switching through a fun game

This project consisted out of a literature research and a creative presentation of it. The research part of this project was easy. Amal did her essay on code switching, so she already knew about the topic. The rest of us got a lesson from Amal and we did our own research. I found it diffucult to translate literature into an embodied publication. THANK GOD FOR JOHANA!

She was the only one in our group with an creative background. Eva studies Psychology and Amal and I study Social Work. Both are traditional and focused on acadamics. Johana studies Fashion on WdkA, so she was more familiar within this institution and how it works. During the creative proces, we really depentend on her. But we obviously didn't want her to do the whole project by herself, so we were always looking for a way to make help. For instance, we took some pictures and instead of using Photoshop, we printed everything out and cut it by hand. The reason for it was because only Johana knew how to use Photoshop and we didn't want her tto do everything. Maybe it was an amateurish way of working, but at least we did it together!
